The UMaine Farmington Department of Humanities offers courses in English, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Religion, and Modern Foreign Languages, including French, German, Spanish, Chinese, and Russian.
At UMaine Farmington, the Department of Humanities is home to more than two hundred students majoring in English, Secondary Education-English, Creative Writing, and Philosophy/Religion.
The Department is affiliated with Alice James Press, and it sponsors the Visiting Writers Series and several student publications, including Apropos, The Sandy River Review, and Eclectica.
